Here’s one for the fans of the black circle!

The Press Book House is opening its doors every Wednesday night to anyone who wants to play their favourite vinyl, listen to some funky ‘spin doctoring’ from others or even wax lyrical about their own stack of, well, wax!

Dubbed the Vynil Appreciation Guild ( Or Club VAG) this group of like-minded fans of the platters that matter will meet every Wednesday night with this week being the inaugural gathering.

Each week, the Guild will focus on different musical genres, eras, recording studios and topics such as the first vinyl you bought or was gifted to you or even the vinyl we most hated.

To kick things off, the topic of discussion for this week’s meeting will be “vinyl that means the most to me,” and punters will get the chance to spin one side of their favourite slab to ensure everyone gets a turn (early Genesis or Iron Butterfly notwithstanding)

So get along to the Press Book House (462 Hunter Street) this Wednesday from 4-7.30pm with your favourite record under your arm and a brief background on why the record is so important to you.

Five buck entry also nabs you a complimentary coffee, crafty IPA or wine. Coffee and cakes are available for purchase on the night.
