The Junkyard, aka the Grand Junction Hotel, will be firing up the barbie and the amps this weekend all in the name of saying thanks to the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Dubbed Maitland’s Biggest BBQ, all proceeds from the event will go towards the fireies in response to their heroic effort combatting the current bushfires gripping the state.
The snags will be flowing in the pub’s beer garden and the venue will also be putting on ‘Karma Kegs’ where you pay what you think is fair. And every cent raised will go directly to NSW RFS.
Given that the ‘Junkyard’ Maitland’s home of live music, it wouldn’t be a junkyard party without some decent tunes.
And they have assembled a festival-worthy lineup, with all bands donating their time for free for this worthy cause.
The incomparable Ngariki will kick off musical proceedings at 2pm, followed by Lydia Seymour, Nicholas Connors, and Connor McCamley.
Johnston City will take to the stage at 6pm, followed by Gleny Rae Virus and Magpie Diaries.
How good is that?
Maitland’s Biggest BBQ will be on at the Grand Junction Hotel from 12pm on Saturday7 December.
