We had the chance to meet Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom last year during the first Newcastle 500. So we thought we’d catch up with one of Supercar’s favourite drivers ahead of the showdown this weekend in Newcastle.
NL: What’s the fondest memory you have of the first Coates Hire Newcastle 500?
FROSTY: Getting Provisional Pole on the Sunday and witnessing how much of a success the race was, the crowd was huge.
NL: What’s a #frostyfan?
FROSTY: Passionate, good genuine down to earth people who follow me for me.

FROSTY: The images are of my boys, Oliver 7 and Austin 5, they ride every lap with me. Each year an updated image of them is painted on my new helmet. I have kept a helmet from every year as well as a race suit, they are very special to me.
