The Coates Hire Newcastle 500 has claimed its place as one of the most anticipated events on the sporting calendar, after an incredible debut in 2017!
Simple Minds, will headline the Supercars finale celebrations, supported by Aussie favourites, Birds of Tokyo. The concert is free with your Saturday race ticket!
Make sure you are Trackside at 1.35pm on Saturday before the start of the race to see the Supercars Drivers Parade.
AUSTRALIAN ARMY BAND
The Australian Army Band Newcastle’s Roving Band will be there to rev up the crowds with their upbeat take on popular tunes. Feel free to put on your dancing shoes and be part of the action.
RAAF F/A-18A Hornet aerial handling display PLUS the Australian Defence Force on Ground Displays in Pacific Park are happening on Saturday and Sunday: Just before the main race (approx. 3:15pm to 3:30pm).
Head to the Main Oval, near the Super2Garages during the autograph signing sessions. Friday from 12:30pm – 1pm, Saturday from 9:30am-10am & Sunday from 9:20am-9:50am at Main Oval, adjacent to the Super2 Garages!
LEGO PLAY ZONE
It’s fun for the whole family at the brand-new LEGO Play Zone featuring products from LEGO Speed Champions. There is plenty to entertain kids big and small with pit crew challenges, where teams will build a LEGO car and run it down a racetrack, competitions on distance ramps and a creative play featuring a Cityscape Build. Happening 10am-3pm daily!
COOPERS ROLL BAR
The Coopers Roll Bar is the ultimate location for fans to watch and enjoy Supercar racing. Enjoy the music, catch up with friends and maybe make some new ones. It’s open across Friday, Saturday and Sunday inside Turn 10 (Hairpin).
HINO SPORTS DECK
The ultimate location for the true sports fan. It features a pseudo-sports bar, complete with 5 TV screens streaming the best sport from around the world and Australia, a dedicated kids’ area, fuseball, and even a phone recharge station. The Hino Sports Deck will be open across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE PRECINCT
With high-tech, high-skill and high-speed as part of the Supercars driver program on the ground, see Royal Australian Air Force pilots take to the skies with these common passions for a thrilling display in the air. On the ground, register to test your skills as an Air Force fast-jet pilot at the Air Force Simulator Experience trailer. Here you can browse through the Australian Army and Air Force capability displays as well as Team Army’s project car and street machines.

Bring your own chair, blanket or just yourself and enjoy the atmosphere at the Newcastle Foreshore. A Trackside ticket gives you the freedom to wander around the track and find your favourite spot to watch the race. Kids 12 and under receive free Trackside admission with a paying adult.
Get closer to the action than you ever have before – in Pit Lane! Take a behind-the-scenes look through the epicentre of all the action in pit lane at the 2018 Coates Hire Newcastle 500. Witness teams and drivers in preparation for the gruelling 500km of endurance racing. Get in quick as tickets are limited.
GRAND FINALE BREAKFAST
Join us trackside for the 2018 Coates Hire Newcastle 500 Grand Finale Breakfast. Mingle with the Drivers, be the first to see the 2018 track, enjoy a delicious breakfast and raise funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. A morning not to be missed!
PARK & RIDE
A park and ride facility will be in operation at Stockton where attendees can park their vehicles and continue the journey to the event by ferry across the harbour. Attendees considering this transport option are strongly encouraged to pre-book a parking space as it is expected to fill quickly particularly on the weekend.
