It’s the Newcastle (and now Charlestown) eatery that is not afraid to experiment with all manner of weird and wonderful burger creations.
And now Rascal wants to know your thoughts on its best burger of the week for 2019.
Yep, that’s right, the burger boffins are throwing it back on the general public with the winner of the popular vote being brought back to the menu for another week in 2020.
The announcement of the comp was met with a great deal of chatter on social media with many burger hounds debating the merits of their fave burger of the week.

A clear frontrunner, judging by the comments would have to be the Ribwich.
Not surprising considering this take on the Simpson’s Krusty Burger classic – with slow-cooked beef short rib, mustard, cheese sauce, onion and pickles on a sesame roll – became one of the hottest menu items in town.
Racal burger artists could barely keep up with the demand for this thing when it was unleashed back in May last year.
Another frontrunner would have to be the politically charged tribute to PM Scott ‘ScoMo’ Morrison – The Scomotose.

The hefty concoction, released in November, honours ScoMoโs โpro-activeโ approach to the bushfire crisis, with fried chicken, buffalo turkey slaw, jalapenos, onions, a coal bun, and Scorchinโ ScoMo habanero sauce.
If you feel strongly enough about a particular burger, head into Rascal’s Newcastle or Charlestown locations to cast your vote by Thursday 23 January.
The winner will be revealed on Saturday 25 January.
