Fresh from nabbing an ARIA nomination for their incendiary debut album Self Care, up-and-coming pop-punks Yours Truly are hitting the ground running in 2022.
The Sydney-based four pice are heading out on a summer tour and Newcastle will be the first cab off the rank for the 12-date national run.
The band will be joined by Adelaide duo Towns and Newy legends Eat Your Heart Out for what promises to be a mammoth show at The Cambridge Hotel on Friday 14 January.
Currently stunning their stuff alongside Welsh rockers Holding Absence on their UK run, vocalist Mikaila Delgado said the band was pumped to get in front of Aussie audiences.
“We’re excited to be putting on our very first full Australian headline tour that reaches this many cities,” Mikaila said.
“After these past two years, getting to play our album and some new stuff all over our country will be so memorable.
“We can’t wait to show everyone what YT can do now!”
Fast becoming a must-watch in the international alternative scene, Yours Truly’s 2020 debut album Self Care was recently nominated for ARIA’s Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album alongside the company of big hitters including Tropical Fuck Storm, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and A. Swayze & the Ghosts, and fellow scene risers Alpha Wolf.
From their hometown in Sydney, the four-piece first broke out with their 2019 EP Afterglow (of which the lead single High Hopes has just clocked over 10 million streams) and went on to spend the rest of the year gracing stages including Download UK, Riot Fest and supporting the international quests of Sum 41 and State Champs.
The group’s 2020 full-length Self Care garnered a laundry list of accolades including triple j’s Feature Album and Tone Deaf’s Record Of The Week, alongside band nominations for Rolling Stone’s Best New Artist and Best International Breakthrough Band at the UK Heavy Awards.
