Your guide to King Street’s Great Southern Nights Street Party

King Street’s Great Southern Nights Street Party is happening over two massive days this weekend.

Saturday afternoon kicks the whole thing off with an epic lineup featuring Trophy Eyes, Loons, Butterknife and PIT. Sunday will see Hot Potato Band, DJ K-lee, Jump, Skyepaint and Sneaky Sound System party on with an all-ages crowd.

Here’s everything you need to know before heading into the event.

TICKETS

Tickets for both days of the street party are free. BUT – Tickets for both days of the Street Party are currently “sold out”. You can sign up to the waiting list and be first to be notified on the day if there’s any room available. People on the wait list will be notified on the day if there is room available by SMS.

SATURDAY

> Saturday 23rd March – 3 pm till 8 pm – 18+ event

The Saturday party is an 18+ event that will run from 3 pm until 8 pm. You must show a valid ID at the gate before you gain entry.

All ticket holders with a ticket must be in the event before 5 pm.

While it’s a free event, you need to register for a ticket and tickets are currently “sold out”. You can sign up to the waitlist for tickets and you’ll be notified on the day if any become available. After 5 pm walk-ups will be allowed to enter after they register on a “one in, one out” basis.

You should also take note that there are no pass-outs.

King Street Hotel will be open to the public if entry is at capacity.

PIT: 3.00 pm
HEY! ASTRO 3.45 pm
BUTTERKNIFE: 4.30 pm
LOONS: 5.15 pm
TROPHY EYES: 6.30 pm

SUNDAY

> Sunday 24th March – 3 pm till 8 pmAll ages event

The Sunday party is an all-ages event event that will run from 3 pm until 8 pm. All adults must show a valid ID at the gate. People under 18 years of age will be required to wear a wristband with their name and mobile number on it.

All ticket holders with a ticket must be in the event before 5 pm

FOOD

Ain’t no street party without a bit of street party-friendly food and lucky for us {antojitos} will be serving up their delicious Mexican fare and Mr Loaded will be filling bellies with burgers and chips!

GETTING THERE

Parking around King Street is limited. You won’t get a park. Your best bet is to jump on public transport.

Rideshare and taxi drop-off and pick-up points will be located on King Street for the event and will have traffic control personnel on hand to manage the whole shebang.

WHAT YOU CAN’T BRING

Basically, if you can’t bring it to a normal pub, club, festival or concert – You can’t bring it to the street party.

That includes chairs, skateboards, bags larger than an a4 piece of paper, eskies, sealed drink containers, and animals (other than registered guide and assistance dogs). Hit the King Street website for the full list.
