Do you know a budding creative with a passion for music and events? Young Gums is back for its fifth year, offering youngsters a chance to take their first step into a career in the music industry.
Led by the legendary crew at Dashville and supported by The Gum Ball’s talented community of artists, technicians, and event managers, this one-of-a-kind mentorship program is open to high school students aged 13โ17 from regional NSW.
Over five unforgettable days, Young Gums will dive into the nuts and bolts of festival production, working alongside seasoned industry pros through workshops, mentoring, and hands-on experiences. From setting up stages and crafting killer soundscapes to songwriting, vocal training, and live performances, participants will take away the vital tools needed for music festival production and performance.
But itโs not all work! After each dayโs program, participants and their families can soak up the festival vibes, enjoying world-class performances across three magical nights from the likes of Ben Lee, Elana Stone, Grace Cummings, and the many more artists yet to be announced.
The experience peaks with a group performance on The Gum Ball’s main stageโbecause nothing beats the thrill of live music under the stars.

The program covers the cost of mentorship, camping, meals, and even includes a welcome dinner for Young Gums and their families. A parent or guardian must stay on-site for supervision (discounted tickets available).
Funded by Home In Place/Grow A Star and Dashville, Young Gums is the ultimate gateway for young creatives looking to make their mark in the music and events industry.
The Gum Ball 2025 will take place on Wonnarua Country from 25-27 April. Applications are open until 5pm March 24, so head here to secure your spot.
