Killing Heidi will roll into Lake Mac later this month for a gig at Toronto Hotel as part of the Wild Turkey Music 101 tour.

Fronted by siblings Ella and Jesse Hooper, the band will deliver a mix of their own classics alongside fan-voted covers from the 101 Greatest Pub Songs of All Time list, in a night celebrating the music thatโ€™s filled Aussie pubs for generations.

The Toronto Hotel show will also feature performances from some of the countryโ€™s most exciting up-and-coming acts, hand-picked as winners of the Wild Turkey Music 101 mentorship program.

Local favourite Piper Butcher will be among the emerging artists hitting the stage, alongside Serendipiti, Norwood Band and Jamie Lamont.

For the mentorship winners, this tour has been about more than just playing gigs. Theyโ€™ve received one-on-one guidance from Ella and Jesse Hooper, industry insights from a Universal Music A&R representative, and, for the programโ€™s โ€˜heroโ€™ artists, the chance to record a single at Sydneyโ€™s Forbes Street Studios.

“There’s something magical about the connection between artist and audience in a pub setting. It’s raw, honest, and utterly authentic,” Ella Hooper said.

“Some of Australia’s greatest musical legends cut their teeth in pubs, and we’re thrilled to be part of giving the next generation that same opportunity.”

Killing Heidi will play the Toronto Hotel in Lake Macquarie, on Saturday, 30 August, as part of the Wild Turkey Music 101 tour. You can find out more by visiting wildturkeymusic.com.au.
