From major events, sport and live music, to art, culture and unique discoveries, Lake Macquarie’s event calendar for February is stacked.

NSW SURF LIFE SAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NSW Surf Life Saving Championships return to Lake Macquarie in 2021!
The Stateโs premier surf event returns to Lake Macquarie for another year of competition.This year due to COVID-19 restrictions, water events will be held at Blacksmiths Beach and beach events will be held at Redhead.

LAKEFEST
Lakefest will be taking over Lake Macquarie from 13 February!
Now in its sixth year, the 2021 edition of Lakefest will see the largest coastal saltwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere come alive with a huge range of aquatic activities, including the Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta and Lake Macquarie Classic Boat Associationโs Boatfest at Rathmines Park.

MAXMIUM ADVENTURE RACE SERIES
Short, fast and fun for people seeking an adventure!
While the Maxmium Adventure Race Series is sold out for 2021, you’ve now got plenty of time to prepare for next year. And if youโre really keen to be involved, the Max Adventure team is still on the lookout for volunteers.

Live Music and the Arts

LIVE MUSIC LAKE MAC
The series that’s bringing some of Australian’s favourite musicians to Lake Macquaire.
While tickets for the Ash Grunwald show have now sold out, there are still some great spots available for Steve Balbi (of Noiseworks) this Saturday, and for 19-Twenty later in the month.

MUSIC IN THE PODIUM
Grab your picnic basket and blanket because Music in the Podium is back!
The 8-week program kicks off in February and will feature some of your favourite local musicians. The Friday evening shows, held in the podium on the Warners Bay foreshore, are family-friendly and entry is free.

FILMS @ RATHMINES: Roman Holiday
Just in time for Valentine’s Day!
The Films @ Rathmines program gives you the opportunity to enjoy some cinematic favourites from the last few decades while enjoying a glass of wine at Lake Mac’s newest venue, Rathmines Theatre. This American romantic comedy film was directed and produced by William Wyler and stars Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

BODY LANGUAGE
This Weekend is your last chance to take the family to see the National Gallery of Australia touring exhibition, Body Language.
Explore the iconography of language as expressed through symbols and patterns and the identity of Australiaโs diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

FIRST CLASS 20
First Class 20 kicks off this weekend!
The annual exhibition features works selected from nominated HSC Visual Arts students. Curators Helen Willis and Melody Jones have noticed this year’s themes include the environment, family, culture and understandably health.

CRIME WITH A VIEW
Here’s an event for lovers of mystery and all things Agatha Christie.
A celebration of the queen of mystery, Agatha Christie and her great detectives โ Marple and Poirot. Visitors will immerse themselves in an afternoon of refreshments, quizzes, prizes and vintage mayhem. Dressing up as your favourite Christie sleuth is encouraged, as is entering the Fan Fiction competition. There’ll also be an included Devonshire tea!
