LIVING SMART FESTIVAL

AUSTRALIAN HAYDN ENSEMBLE: Mozartโ€™s Horn With Carla Blackwood

This is your chance to experience one of Australiaโ€™s premier period ensembles. The Sunday afternoon concert will give you the chance to immerse yourself in the luminous sounds and contrasting facets of Mozartโ€™s genius. A highlight of the program is Mozartโ€™s beloved horn concerto, written for his close friend and esteemed horn player, Ignaz Leutgeb. Often described as a little love duet between horn and violin, this piece remains a joyful testament to their enduring friendship. The concert will also feature works by Hauff, and Michael Haydn.

TWO WORLDS

WHEN: SATURDAY 14 SEPTEMBER

Two Worlds is a unique collaboration between two remarkable artists, Julia Davis and Jane Sheldon. The Australian-American composer and soprano will deliver a live performance as part of the exhibition Voice of Sea, Voice of Sky, adding a new musical layer to her sound design for SEAM, a cinematic video artwork created in partnership with artist Julia Davis. This exhibition blends visual art and live music and is not to be missed!

MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

WHEN: SATURDAY 5 OCTOBER
WHERE: WARNERS BAY THEATRE, BARAMAYIBA

The Manhattan Short Film Festival is coming to Lake Macquarie – A global cinematic event in partnership with Lake Macquarie City Council. This unique festival unites over 100,000 film enthusiasts in more than 500 cities across six continents, all with one goal: to watch and vote on the finalists’ films. This year’s lineup features ten exceptional short films from around the world, including the Australian entry Favourites, starring Stephen Curry and Sibylla Budd, and the UKโ€™s The Talent, featuring Emma Dโ€™Arcy and Leo Sutter. It’s a global celebration of film in our very own backyard.
