Tomorrow night, 4 August at 7:30 pm, Newcastle Live will stream Hunter Drama’s production of the War of The Worlds radio play live from the Civic Playhouse.
Originally broadcast from New York’s Mercury Theatre in 1938, this infamous radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place.
Now, 85 years later, Hunter Drama’s senior drama students are presenting a faithful recreation of the world’s most famous radio event live on stage and we’ll be streaming the whole thing, including live Foley tomorrow night right here on the website (see the player below) and our apps (see the link below).
