Wine lovers should get their best pair of walking shoes out of the cupboard because the Urban Wine Walk is returning to Newcastle this May.
Like last year, the 2023 Urban Wine Walk will be a self-guided wine-tasting experience.
The pick-your-own-path tour will take sippers on a journey to eight different venues, all within walking distance of each other.
Each venue will be paired with a hero wine producer, allowing you to sample a variety of wines from different regions and styles.
The winemakers have been carefully selected by founder Josh Starick and his team to ensure the very best producers make it into the event.
“We started Urban Wine Walk because we wanted to take next-gen wine producers out of the shadows, out of the hills, and put them on a bigger stage smack bang in the middle of the city, in front of a receptive crowd,” Josh said.
“In terms of the venues, our aim has always been to use our events as a platform to showcase and support local venues who put their blood, sweat and tears into providing the local community with a vibrant and enjoyable place to socialise with friends, all year-round.”
With a focus on regional NSW producers, you’ll get to taste Italian varietals from Mudgee’s First Ridge, and natural sparkling from Hunter Valley’s Agitate Wines, just to name a few.
The tour aims to give wine lovers a new experience while supporting local venues and next-gen wine producers.
It’s all happening on Saturday, 6 May. Tickets will be on sale tomorrow, Thursday 23 March via urbanwinewalk.com.au.
