Tyler Childers to headline Howlin’ Country in Newcastle

Seven-time GRAMMY nominee and Americana Music Award winner Tyler Childers will headline the inaugural Howlin’ Country music festival in Newcastle.

Childers will headline the all-ages event alongside a stacked lineup of Aussie talent including Brad Cox and Sons Of The East.

Acclaimed for his ability to blend traditional country sounds with modern storytelling, Tyler Childers has a pretty devoted following that will now all descend on Newcastle in February 2025.

“I am originally from a farm at Wagga Wagga and that’s what made me fall in love with Newcastle. Newcastle will always have a strong connection to the country, and it feels like a big country town with a beach,” Howlin Country promoter, Greg Mathew said.

“It’s about time Newcastle had an event celebrating that connection.

We hope that as Howlin develops its identity it will provide a unique experience and day out for local country fans of all ages to introduce their friends to a genre that’s exploding globally.”

Also locked in for the festival are Taylor Moss and Newcastle’s rising star, Austin Mackay, who is set to showcase his unique blend of folk and country music.

Adding a different flavour to the mix, the Cheap Whiskey DJs will spin tracks that bridge the gap between traditional and modern sounds, ensuring a dynamic musical experience for all attendees.

Tickets for the festival are set to go on presale at 2 pm on Thursday, 11 July, with general sales starting at 10 am on Friday, 12 July. Fans are encouraged to purchase early due to the limited capacity of the event.

The Howlin Express ticket option offers perks such as the best seats in the house, express entry lanes, reserved seating zones, and dedicated bar lanes.

Howlin’ Country will take over Newcastle Foreshore on Saturday 15 February 2025. For more info visit howlin.country.
