Turn back time this weekend at the Kurri Nostalgia Festival

If here there was a period where being able to whisk ourselves away to a simpler time, it would have to be the one we’re currently living in.

Well, you’re in luck because the Kurri Nostalgia Festival is making a welcome return this weekend after being sidelined in 2020 due to COVID-19.

While current restrictions dictate that this year’s festival will look a little different, it will still transform Kurri into a retro paradise chock full of classic cars, sartorial splendour and basically more fun than you can poke a stick at!

Below is a rundown on just some of the things on offer this coming weekend but head here for more information and a full program.

Retro Marketplace

When: 8.30am – 4pm Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March
Where: Rotary Park

The Retro Market Place brings together some of the biggest and best nostalgia-themed retro and vintage market stalls from across the country. You’ll find themed merchandise, retro goods, vintage clothing, rock n roll memorabilia, collectables and plenty for the car enthusiasts.

Best Dressed Competition

When: 2pm to 5pm Saturday 27 March 
Where: Weston Workers Club

Don’t miss the Best Dressed Competitions, at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival – you will be amazed at the variety of wonderful outfits, hairstyles and accessories. Guys, girls and kids included.

Plus, you can win great prizes in the Best Dressed Competitions, just by dressing up and sharing your style and the event will be live-streamed to Facebook!

2021 Burlesque Muse Showcase

When: 7pm – 11pm Friday 26 March
Where: Weston Workers Club

The show will be a high-energy and deliciously entertaining evening, jam-packed with talent, humour and an extravaganza of dazzling striptease. A dazzling array of local burlesque talent will take you on a glittering journey to the sparkliest world we know.

Expect to see some of the country’s top performers showcasing their most unique acts. From glamorous Vegas-inspired showgirls to comediennes who will have the whole room laughing, join us as we celebrate all forms of burlesque, creating a night as entertaining as it is enticing for its audience.

Rock and Roll Express

When: 7pm to 10pm Friday 26 March and Saturday 27 March
Where: Richmond Vale Railway Museum

All aboard the Rock and Roll Express!

Take a twilight train ride and enjoy a light supper as the carriages start rockin’ to the toe tapping sounds of Rock and Roll Heaven (Friday) and Jumpin’ Jukebox (Saturday).
