Top series to binge on when the weather gets apocalyptic

Sure we don’t get snow storms in Australia but it’s been pretty crazy out there lately? So what do you do? Stay in bed and binge on your favourite series, of courses. Here are our top five shows streaming right now, that you should devour this week.

Zoo (Netflix)

Um, are you looking for dystopian fiction? Bloodshed? Hectic crazy CGI that almost looks real? Animals gone wild? A mismatched love interest between Bella’s dad from Twilight and a rogue with a genie tattoo? Oh boy, have I got the series for you. Zoo is based on a James Patterson novel and is literally about zoo animals gone rogue. There’s lots of biting, lots of the Australian landscape (that’s meant to be Africa) and some pretty weird CGI, but it will hook you in from the get-go.

Smilf (Stan)

If you’re after a dark comedy, we have found your next ultimate series. Smilf is centered around single mum Bridgette and her ADORABLE son Larry. Bridgette is the kind of train wreck who will make you feel better about yourself and every other aspect of your life. She’s a loveable dork, a hot mess and the kind of protagonist we can all relate to on some level. The episodes are short (but not always sweet) and you’ll binge the entire series in no time.

Sinner (Netflix)

If dark and stormy crime is your thing (obviously it is, it’s everyone’s thing right now) then Sinner is your latest binge. The first series stars Jessica Biel and is set around a horrific murder on the beach. It’s gruesome and twisted and will have you hooked from the first minute. Watch this series immediately please so I can finally discuss it with someone. Thank you in advance.

Mcleod’s Daughters (Stan)

Obviously this is on the list! Who doesn’t want to while away some hours in the Australian outback with Australia’s favourite farmers (who thankfully are not looking for husbands or wives – they are just independent women, ya dig?). There’s horses, and drama-llama and everything you could want in a binge sesh. Start immediately.

The Office US (Stan)

As with Mcleod’s, if it’s a long series you’re after, look no further than this staple. The Office is honestly one of the funniest series ever made, written, performed, or anything to do with TV. Michael Scott is simultaneously the boss from hell and the boss you’ve always wanted. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll engage in identity theft. It’s a win win.
