The Newcastle community has once again demonstrated its generosity, raising more than $18,900 to support students impacted by poverty through Officeworks stores in Newcastle West, Kotara, and Warners Bay.

The initiative was part of the 2025 Officeworks Back to School Appeal, which ran from 27 December to 9 February. Across Australia, the appeal raised an impressive $1.3 million, benefiting more than 1,800 students through The Smith Familyโ€™s Learning for Life sponsorship program.

The program helps disadvantaged families afford crucial school supplies, including uniforms, books, and excursions, while also offering additional educational support to keep students engaged.

Over the past 12 years, Officeworksโ€™ partnership with The Smith Family has transformed the lives of over 60,000 students and raised more than $9 million. The annual appeal continues to make a significant impact, thanks to the generosity of customers and employees who contribute to the cause.

This yearโ€™s fundraising effort aligns with Officeworksโ€™ broader People and Planet Positive commitment, which originally aimed to support 30,000 students by 2025 but has now been revised to 60,000. The company is expanding its efforts to provide year-round assistance and address the digital divide for Indigenous and disadvantaged students across the country.

With the ongoing support of the Newcastle community and national efforts from Officeworks, The Smith Familyโ€™s mission to provide equal educational opportunities continues to gain momentum. You can learn more or contribute by visiting Officeworksโ€™ donation page.
