Covered in Crumbs

It’s covered in crumbs. Duh. Google them. Find them. Try them immediately.

Haven’t heard of bootleg bakery yet? Well… that’s kind of the point. This sneaky little red van at 10 James Street Merewether. They’re only open Friday and Saturday from 8am until sold out!

Hello Naomi

So this is a little bit of a controversial entry in this list but for anyone who has tried Naomi’s cakes aka Hello Naomi then you’ll understand and if it means buying an entire cake/going to a wedding just because she’s catering the desserts then god dammit that’s what I’ll do, and you should too.

Choux Patisserie

Ummm did someone say Eclairs? Yass kween! Look no further than these scrumdiddlyumptious peeps from Choux Patisserie. Try one for yourself at your next local markets!

  1. The only venue from the above list we have tried was Glazed. The branding hype does not match their offerings though, the artisan donuts are a nice idea, sadly however, their coffee was cold and they had just opened for the day too. Their donuts would actually taste a bit better if they were in fact heated/flambed as that is something unique Jimmy has not seen before otherwise it leaves that gritty greasy feeling on the top of your mouth.

My Baker at 122 Hunter St is Jimmy’s overall favourite though and they put Darby’s Pies to absolute shame! The pies are gourmet and have got the recipe just right so it is not too salty or fatty but are packed with flavour. Butter Chicken, Asparagus Chicken, Satay Chicken are the best but do stick around for the Spinach Feta roll or a quiche, very good portion sizes too that make it such a treat. They do good coffee too (in comparison to other beaneries near by).
