Why would Council close a local initiative supporting those less fortunate?

Hamilton has a wonderful cupboard/free shop in Hamilton that provides food for locals experiencing homelessness and anyone in need.

On Wednesday Newcastle City Council arrived at the location in Hamilton to advise that they will be closing it down in two weeks. An online petition, only up for two days, has already generated almost 4,000 signatures.

Tom Wickert who is a part of Food Not Bombs as well as the group keeping the Hamilton Community Food Cupboard is as perplexed as us. He joins Tracy Mac to try to make sense of it all.
