If you are looking for a culinary experience to remember, all in the name of a great cause, then the Variety of Chefs Gala Dinner should be just the ticket.
The glittering gala for eager gourmands will see some of the best chefs from the Hunter region and beyond create a decadent four-course menu that is sure to tantalise.
This year, the line-up of acclaimed and hatted chefs includes celebrity chef Jason Roberts, Mal Meiers from Subo, Restaurant Mason’s Chris Thornton, Matt Skelton from NEX and Ash Matthews from Rick Stein at Bannisters.
Celebrity Chef Jason Roberts, a New Zealand native who splits his time between Sydney and New York City, is an internationally known chef, author, television personality, fitness enthusiast and gluten-free lifestyle advocate.

This year’s theme is “Dinner Under The Stars” and each course of the mouthwatering menu will feature a native ingredient.
The team of world-class chefs will also provide live demonstrations and a Lucky Key prize draw which allows guests to win an amazing international travel package worth more than $5,000.
The night will also be the last opportunity to get your tickets for the ASN Give Back to Kids car raffle for the chance to win a Toyota CH-R Koba valued at $38,000.
2019 Variety of Chefs event aims to raise more than $130,000 which will go towards Variety – the Children’s Charity which helps Hunter region kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
Variety NSW/ACT Head of Regional Development Jason Bourke said the gala is a great way to give something back while enjoying some of the finest food this region, and its best chefs, have to offer.
“The fifth annual Variety of Chefs Gala Dinner is a fabulous opportunity for the local community, both individuals and businesses, to come together to help local kids in need,” he said.
Over the last four years, Variety of Chefs has raised more than $400,000 which Variety has used to help more than 12,000 local kids.
The 2019 Variety of Chefs Gala Dinner is on at NEX on Saturday 10 August from 6pm.
