After six years of packed-out parties, Lass Bash has officially called time on its residency at The Lass O’Gowrie Hotel in an email to the Cooked Memories mailing list.

The long-running event, known for throwing epic parties showcasing local talent alongside touring acts, hosted its final night at the venue in January.

In the email, Cooked Memories said they made the decision to stop holding events at The Lass after a shift in direction under the pub’s new management.

“A big thank you to everyone who has ever bought a ticket played on our lineups, shared us on socials & helped out in any way to support these parties and help make them happen.” the Cooked Memories organisers said in an email.

“We’re really proud to have put on one of the city’s longest-running events.”

Since its inception in 2018, Lass Bash has brought together crowds of music lovers, local talent, and a whole host of national and international headliners, including JPEG, Urby and K.I.M.

Organisers expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported the event over the years, from ticket buyers to performers and behind-the-scenes contributors.

While it marks the end of an era at The Lass, the venue is looking toward a bright future with Maeve Grant stepping in as its new booking agent. With fresh talent and new events on the horizon, The Lass O’Gowrie remains a key player in Newcastle’s live music scene.
