The Kent gets historic makeover ahead of 100th Birthday

A major renovation of The Kent Hotel in Hamilton is currently underway and should be completed just in time to celebrate the venue’s 100th Birthday.

These renovations have primarily focused on the main bar area and aim to infuse a contemporary, Art Deco-inspired design that gives a nod to the venue’s rich history.

The revamped main bar will feature upgraded facilities complete with a new U-shaped bar designed to streamline service and provide patrons with an unobstructed view of the bustling activity behind the counter.

“The Kent Hotel feels like a home away from home for many,” Managing Director of Hunt Hospitality, Stephen Hunt said.

“I’m lucky enough to have been a part of this building’s story for the past 22 years. It’s seen many changes over the years, but this is a chapter I am truly looking forward to sharing with everyone who considers The Kent as a second home.”

The Kent is also set to unveil a brand-new Veranda Bar with 12 new beer taps which will breathe new life into one of Newcastle’s most famous balconies.

The Kent Hotel will remain open throughout the renovation process which should be complete in time for the venue’s 100th birthday celebrations. You can find out more by visiting thekenthotel.com.au.
