It was the Newcastle online music gear sale that broke the internet faster than Kim Kardashian’s derriere.
And now the good folks at Muso’s Corner are gearing up for another crack at their massively popular May the Fourth sale this week – Thursday 4 June to be precise.
To make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible, a new sale site has been set up on a separate “domain, server, everything.” and the URL will be released in the Muso’s Corner May The Fourth Be With You Sale Facebook group on the day of the sale.
Best of all, not only will all the items originally listed in the original sale be back on offer on Thursday night, Muso’s boffins have been busy dropping all manner of discounted sonic whizbangery in the Facebook group, faster than a guitarist drops and then loses a plectrum!
The popular West End music shop was overwhelmed last month when it attempted to stage an online iteration of their popular May The Fourth Sale.
Eager shoppers flooded the sale and caused the servers to crash twice with staff later revealing that said servers crashed under the weight of a massive 2.3 million requests!
“We’re defeated. We have to postpone this sale. We can’t even log into our back end to turn the products on,” staff wrote in an apologetic Facebook post.
“We feel horrible and are sorry. We got over 2.3 Million Server requests. Our hosting providers were floored, we had the biggest servers available.
“We’re not going to let you guys down, we will keep these exact products and get a whole heap more and relaunch. Give us a few days to figure this out. We will make this up to you. Please be understanding, this is not what we wanted either.”
So, make sure you head over the the sale Facebook page for more info and updates.
Oh, and go easy on the mouse clicks, okay?
