Newcastle is set to feel the fiery force of Sydney indie outfit LAHGO as they roll into town for a special gig at King Street Hotel.

The show forms part of their A Bitter Weekend tour, celebrating the release of their powerful new single, Bitter.

Known for their electrifying fusion of indie, garage rock, and fearless, melodic swells, LAHGO’s latest track continues their reputation for raw, cathartic songwriting.

A follow-up to their 2025 release She, Bitter is bold and confrontational—channeling rejection and frustration into a gritty, guitar-driven anthem.

Frontwoman Mel Bailey’s lyrics cut deep with unfiltered emotion, giving voice to anger turned into artistic fuel.

Self-directed and shot on a shoestring budget, the Bitter music video captures the same intensity and DIY spirit that defines LAHGO.

Filmed in a Redfern laneway by bassist/vocalist Lee Denman and edited by Bailey herself, the clip features raw street energy and an impromptu cameo from local kids. It’s a visual that matches the track’s unapologetic message and the band’s unpolished charisma.

Since their 2022 debut, LAHGO have made serious waves, selling out headline shows in Sydney and supporting acts like The Terrys and Thirsty Merc.

Their blend of punchy songwriting and dynamic live performance has earned them spins on triple j, Unearthed, FBi Radio and 2ser, as well as over 27,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Their upcoming Newcastle set promises to be an introduction for local fans to a band that’s as real as they come. This will be LAHGO’s first-ever show in the city, and with the momentum building around Bitter, they’re more than ready to make a lasting impression.

Catch LAHGO at King Street Hotel, Newcastle on Sunday 1 June 2025 with local legends Goon Gremlins on support. Tickets are on sale now, and fans are encouraged to get in early via lahgo.com.au.
