Some very scientific research by a UK furniture retailer, Bed Kingdom, has revealed the top 5 songs people use to help them fall asleep.

They used Spotify’s Playlist Miner tool to sus out just under 10,000 playlists that used the words ‘sleep,’ ‘bedtime,” or ‘tired’ in their title. From there they counted how many times each song appeared in each of the playlists and boom – the list was born.

You can check it out below.

Apocalypse
Cigarettes After Sex

This ethereal track, appeared 623 times across the playlists that were analysed. It’s a pretty dreamy number with delayed guitars, ambient drums and a pretty chill vocal line.

Sparks
Coldplay

Some would say that the whole Coldplay discography was an aural sleeping pill, but this number from the band’s debut studio album was the most common cold play track in playlists used by listeners for relaxation and sleep induction.

Je te laisserai des mots
Patrick Watson

There’s nothing like a bit of melodic piano and French to lull you into a peaceful slumber.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron

Delayed guitar sounds are the consistent element in this top 5. This emotional little ballad sets a pretty serene atmosphere which some might see as the perfect platform to drift off to sleep.

My Love Mine All Mine
Mitski

Scrolling social media is usually the cause of not being able to fall asleep. But this track from TikTok music sensation Mitski does quite the opposite apparently.
