Last year, The Rolling Stones album, Sticky Fingers, celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Aussie Musos, and huge Stone’s dans, Adalita (Magic Dirt), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea) and Tim Rogers (You Am I) decided to put a show together to mark the occasion.

But then Covid restrictions put a hold on everything and dates has to be rescheduled. The anniversary year passed and the enthusiasm from both live music lovers and the artists for this show was put on ice.

That was until the pandemic fog lifted just enough that we could all get back to the business of rockingโ€ฆ And boy, did it rock last night when the show hit the stage at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle.

This was only the third stop on The Stone’s Sticky Fingers tour, but the band played like it was a well-oiled machine that had been churning through the set for years.

Guitarists James Christowski and Jak Housden, bassist Dario Bortolin, drummer Hamish Stuart keyboardist Clayton Doley absolutely nailed the music and even gave the tunes a bit of AusRock swagger.

Our mate, and absolute music nut, Juan Mahoney was there to capture all the action from the front row. You can check out some of his photos below.
