The Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest which was meant to hit Maitland on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of April has been postponed.
Organisers say that the recent extreme weather has caused some major issues including a landslip that has stranded two of the steam engines.
The grounds at both Maitland Park and the Rally Ground have also become too wet to host the extensive program of displays that were planned.
“We understand everyone will be disappointed because we are too,” a statement on Facebook said.
“We are now looking to the future and will continue planning with our naming rights partner, Burton Automotive, for a spectacular 35th-anniversary event.”
Ticket holders will be contacted about their options for transferring tickets to the rescheduled date or obtaining a refund over the coming days.
Steamfest will now take over the rails in the Hunter Valley on 30 and 31 July 2022. Visit steamfest.com.au for more information.
