NSW won the Shield for 2021 but sadly missed out on the clean sweep with a very average performance to what was expected.
A gallant Queensland avoided a State of Origin series whitewash and shocked NSW by scoring a 20-18 game three victory on the Gold Coast. Incredibly the Maroons lost the first two games 76-6 but were able to save some face.
