Mayfield’s Stag & Hunter Hotel will host a Chess Records showcase on September 1. An all-star band has been put together for the special event, under the name of “The Best Of Chess”.
Fronted by blues veterans, Ray Beadle, Chris Wilson & Canadian Blues Star Charlie A’Court backed by a powerhouse rhythm section of Rosscoe Clark & Benny Edwards, we’re assured this is going to be one hell of a show!
ABOUT CHESS
Chess Records is the most famous record label in Blues History. The label created the ‘Chicago Blues’ sound, working with artists such as, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Chuck Berry and many more. English bands such as The Rolling Stones, john Mayall, The Yardbirds and Manfred Mann all copied the Chess sound during the Blues Boom of the late 60’s.
