Sounds Of Americana Come To Newcastle

Two of Australia’s finest 50’s influenced bands are joining forces on Friday June 24 at The Hamilton Station Hotel, for a special Sounds Of Americana show. The Rechords and The Cruisin’ Deuces  will both be leaving the drum kits at home, performing as 3-pieces; there are no drums required, but there will still be plenty of rhythm. The show will bring together all the sounds that can fall under the definition of “Americana”; Country, Blues, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, and so much more.

Hailing from Sydney’s inner west, The Cruisin’ Deuces pack an almighty punch, even when stripped down to a trio. Excuse the name and you will hear a combination of guitar, double bass, and pedal steel that will bring the heavy Americana vibes. The band recently performed at the infamous Autumnfest, and were hand chosed by The Rechords to start the night in the best way possible.

Joining them are The Rechords; since forming in 2009 the band have build a strong following up and down the East Coast, as well as in their hometown of Melbourne, playing festivals such as Falls, Meridith, and the Wave Rock Weekender. Their eclectic sound is influenced by the worlds of Bluegrass, Alt-Country, Rockabilly, and early R&B. They have a reputation of incorporating some 2 and 3 part harmonies at times and alternating lead vocalist in the band, just keeps it more interesting and gives the band their distinctive sound.
