Local family business, Smokin Hot ‘n Saucy Barbecue has beaten one of Sydney’s finest restaurants to take out the Smoke Off event for Sydney Good Food Month.

Smokin Hot ‘n Saucy Barbecue beat out NOLA Smokehouse winning three out of four dishes to take home the prize.

Rob and Randi Thraves smoked up some of their favourite meats at the event including, pork belly candy with candied pecans and their award-winning Texas brisket with their crowd favourite corn casserole.

“With the uncertainties of the world, it was great to head into the big smoke of Sydney and showcase some of our food,” said Robert.

Rob says that after the success of the event, NOLA Smokehouse Executive Chef, Troy Spencer and Pit-master, Robert Thraves are in talks to host another event here in the Hunter Valley.

“It was a very fun and exciting event and the Executive Chef of NOLA Smokehouse, Troy Spencer and Pitmaster Robert Thraves are in talks to host another event here in the Hunter Valley. As the world opens up it’s great we can do these events and people can come together again over great food, friends, and family”.
