Crown Street in Newcastle is set to come alive this Saturday with one of Façon Magazine’s most ambitious fashion events since 2019, the Conscious Couture Festival.
The free, all-day festival blends high fashion, live music, and sustainability into a community-focused celebration like no other.
The festival’s three runway shows, Parisian Chic, Avant-Garde, and NYC Punk, will feature fashion sourced exclusively from local second-hand retailers and social enterprises such as Sourced Vintage, Un Pantalon, Got Your Back Sista, Full Circle Collective, and Eastend Wardrobe.
In a highlight of the day, students from TAFE Newcastle’s Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles will unveil unique, sustainable couture pieces during the Avant-Garde show.
The Conscious Couture Festival is grounded in values of sustainability and circular fashion, with Full Circle Collective hosting two workshops throughout the day, offering practical advice and inspiration on sustainable living.
The festival aims to reshape the fashion conversation in Newcastle, turning attention toward mindful design, conscious consumption, and the small businesses leading the charge.
Live music will pulse through the event, adding a soundtrack to the festival’s high-energy, feel-good atmosphere with a lineup that includes Nina Romeru, Noah Church, ZEAL.H, DJ Chloe and Chain Daisy.
The Conscious Couture Festival is happening this Saturday, 12 April 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM. With food and drink offerings from Crown Street vendors, free entry, and a jam-packed program of creative inspiration, you’re in for something truly special.
