Missy Higgins will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of her debut studio album, The Sound of White with two shows at the Civic Theatre.

The shows in Newcastle will be the final date of an epic national tour that will see the treasured Aussie muso play a special two-act show in theatres around the country.

Each show on The Second Act tour will see Missy perform an acoustic, stripped-back set of brand-new songs and fan favourites before breaking for an intermission and returning with a full band to perform The Sound Of White in its entirety.

It’s easy to forget what an impact The Sound Of White had on the Australian music scene when it was first released.

The album sold over 1 million copies, picked up six ARIA Awards and featured songs that are still on rotation on FM radio stations around Australia to this day.

“I wrote all those songs in my late teens when I never thought anyone would hear them, so they were very personal like I was writing my secrets in a diary,” Missy said.

“I did less of that on later albums for lots of reasons but lately I realized Iโ€™d gone back to that confessional mode of songwriting. I guess itโ€™s been my way of dealing with the end of my marriage. So I feel like Iโ€™ve come full circle… I was starting life from scratch at 20 and now, like lots of people, Iโ€™m figuring out how to start life all over again at 40.”

Missy Higgins will bring The Second Act to the Civic Theatre in Newcastle on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2024. Frontier Member presale commences Monday 11 December before the general on sale Wednesday 13 December. For tickets and more information visit frontiertouring.com/missyhiggins.
