If you’re looking for a bit of a chuckle this week, you would do well to get on down to 5 Sawyers on Darby Street,
That’s because the venue will be hosting a night of all-female comedy supporting local charity Got Your ack Sista.
The night will feature three of Australia’s funniest female comics, headlined by Sarah Gaul.
The award-winning musical comedian can boast sold-out appearances at festivals across the world and shows at the Stand NYC. She has been on Tonightly with Tom Ballard and is ready to bring down the house at 5 Sawyers.
Sarah just came back from a year playing in New York, where Broadwayworld New York called her “outrageously funny.”
MC Bec Charlwood is a Perth-based comedian who recently performed at Splendour in the Grass and was a featured act on Rove McManus’s Show The Popular Experiment.
Her brand of funny is pricking up quite a few ears of late so if you could let her mum know, that would be great.
Sydney’s Alex Jae is a hot prospect up and coming stand up comedian, writer and actor. She is known for her unique style and the incredible contrast between her bubbly personality and dark content; what you think you see is definitely not what you’ll get.
Last but certainly not least, Melbourne-based Rose Callaghan has ben heard on Triple j, ABC and Sydney’s FBi radio and has also built a dedicated following through sell-out shows across Australia.
Described as provocative and hilarious, Rose is one not to be missed.
Got Your Back Sista offers benevolent relief and support to women and children escaping domestic violence and are at risk of living below the poverty line.
