Australian rock icon Ross Wilson is set to celebrate five decades of chart-topping music with local fans as his monumental national tour stops at Performance Arts Culture Cessnock this May.

It’s a rare chance for Hunter audiences to witness one of the country’s most enduring performers in an intimate regional venue.

The tour, which has stretched to more than 150 shows nationwide due to overwhelming demand, marks 60 years since Wilson first broke through with his Melbourne band The Pink Finks and their hit Louie Louie.

What began as a celebratory run has grown into one of the most extensive tours of his career, proving just how strongly Australian audiences continue to connect with his music.

Backed by his formidable live outfit, The Peaceniks, Wilson brings a setlist loaded with classics that defined Australian rock.

Fans can expect everything from Daddy Cool staples like Eagle Rock and tracks from the record-smashing debut Daddy Who?, through to the polished ’80s sheen of Mondo Rock hits including Come Said The Boy, State of the Heart, Chemistry, Cool World and No Time.

Across his storied career, Wilson has amassed 26 ARIA Top 40 hits as a performer, songwriter and producer. His influence has earned him two inductions into the ARIA Hall of Fame, along with the title of 2025 ACE Awards Original Music Performer of the Year.

Despite the milestones, his shows continue to be driven by the same energy and charisma that defined his early years.

The Cessnock performance will also highlight Wilson’s more recent work, including songs from his latest EP on Bloodlines Records, She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time.

Blending blues with modern storytelling, it’s a reminder that his creative fire is still burning fiercely after six decades in the spotlight.

Ross Wilson and The Peaceniks perform at PACC on Friday, 8 May 2026 at 8PM. Tickets and full event details are available now via mypacc.com.au.
