Help Ronald McDonald House Newcastle support more families like Emily’s

Everything changed the day a doctor told Nathan and Susie that their daughter Emily had T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Since that day Emily has spent her third, fourth and fifth birthday in the hospital and her parents say they don’t know how they could have managed their two other children and provided the support for Emily without the support of Ronald McDonald House.

“We were able to keep a somewhat normal way of life for our girls and still be together as a family,” Nathan said.

For 416 nights Nathan and Susie stayed right by Emily’s hospital bed so she could get the vital treatment Emily needed.

“We have all had our birthdays at Ronald McDonald House, we have had plenty of cake there over the years.”

The good news is that Emily fought the disease for three gruelling years and is now thankfully in remission.
