Irish rock icons U2 have will head Down Under for the first time in nine years, bringing their massive Joshua Tree tour to stadiums across Australia.
Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr, and Adam Clayton will hit the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 22 and to make things even more enticing, they’ll be bringing Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds along for the ride!
The show promises to be a celebration of the band’s legendary 1987 album The Joshua Tree and the subsequent world tour of the same name.
You can expect to hear the album played in full along with a hefty selection of highlights from U2’s extensive catalogue.
“Itโs only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and itโs great to be able to say that Iโve finally caught up with the band,” Bono said in a statement.”
“Our audience has given the Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour. Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotionโฆ From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the stagingโฆ itโs quite a ride.
“And now we get to do it all over again. Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoulโฆ Weโre coming for youโ.
