One of Newcastle’s three Federal Circuit Court judges has retired, leaving the community in the dark over a future replacement.
Judge Janet Terry reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 earlier this month, and despite considerable lobbying by Newcastle’s Federal Member, no announcement from the Federal Government about her prospective replacement has been made.
MP Sharon Claydon has been waiting to receive a response from the Attorney-General on the appointment of a replacement. She joined Tracy Mac on Newcastle Live Radio this morning to give us an update on the situation.
