A live rock and roll circus, with one of the best soundtracks you’ve ever heard, is headed to the Multi-Arts Pavilion mima stage in Lake Macquarie this month.
Rebel is not just a tribute to the amazing music of David Bowie, it’s a heart-stopping acrobatic rollercoaster of circus, live music and comedy headlined by the incredible multi-award-winning Stewart Reeve.
“Rock ‘n’ roll circus is perfect for Bowie, with its glamour, fantasy and spectacle,” the show’s director, Elena Kirschbaum said.
“Rebel aims to be more than a tribute, but to capture the aesthetic and the spirit of a performer who captivated the world.”
With a body of work that spanned over 50 years, the show is jam-packed full of Rebel songs that inspired generations.
From hits like Space Oddity and Letโs Dance to songs like Lazarus, the second single from Bowie’s twenty-sixth and final studio album, Blackstar, the set list covers all corners of the discography.
The music for the show is performed live by a band made up of musicians from Australia, New Zealand and the United States who are also a circus performers.
The show is part of the MAP mima presents series of curated performances that highlight the unique nature of MAP mima as a multi-purpose performance space that integrates art and technology.
Rebel is set to hit the stage at MAP mima in Lake Mac on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 of July. For tickets and more information visit lakemac.com.au.
