Strummingbird Festival is saddling up for a huge return to Newcastle this October, with organisers confirming the modern country celebration will land on Awabakal Country in October 2026, alongside a stacked new lineup featuring some of the biggest names in country and crossover music.

Leading the charge is global superstar Post Malone, joined by a heavyweight bill that includes Bailey Zimmerman, Cooper Alan, Brad Cox, Cam, Kaitlin Butts, Sons Of The East, and Max Jackson.

Festival favourite energy continues with Late Night Riot featuring Willie Pake, while line dancing royalty Maddison Glover returns to keep the dance floors moving.

Also on the lineup are Sara Berki, Lewis Love, Loren Ryan, Sammy White, plus rising acts like Stella Lefty, Dexter & the Moonrocks, Cigarettes @ Sunset, Noah Rinker, Briana Dinsdale, Mack Geiger and more.

After a breakout debut in 2025, Strummingbird has quickly carved out a reputation as one of Australia’s fastest-rising festivals, blending international headliners with the next wave of country and Americana talent.

Newcastle’s inclusion in the 2026 run places the city firmly in the middle of a growing national tour that has already proven its ability to draw huge crowds and sell-out energy.

Beyond the music, Strummingbird continues to double down on its signature festival experience. The return of the Silver Spur Saloon promises cold drinks, big vibes and even bigger sing-alongs, while pop-ups, themed activations, merch stalls and roaming entertainment will once again transform the site into a full-scale country playground.

Line dancing, late-night energy and immersive festival moments remain central to the Strummingbird identity.

The festival’s expansion into new locations like Ballarat in 2026 highlights its broader push to celebrate regional Australia, bringing major touring acts into communities outside the capital cities.

Newcastle’s positioning as a key stop between Ballarat and the Sunshine Coast reinforces its growing status as a major live-music destination on the national circuit.

Strummingbird Festival lands in Newcastle on Saturday, 17 October 2026. Tickets, presale access and full event details are available via strummingbird.com.au.
