Newcastle’s renowned Pork Ewe Deli is commemorating a decade of serving delicious gourmet delights to the local community.
The beloved deli, founded by epicurean Sam Glover, is kicking off a 10-week celebration filled with a variety of exciting events and activities to mark this significant milestone.
The festivities began with an intimate launch party for Pork Ewe VIPs on 22 July, setting the stage for a series of sensory delights for food enthusiasts.
One of the highlights of the celebration is the return of the “Meet the Makers” series, a free in-store tasting event that showcases local wines and produce. The first event on 3 August will feature Glover wines and Kanguri honey paired with a selection of Pork Ewe cheeses.
In addition to tastings, Pork Ewe Deli is reintroducing the highly anticipated Darby St baguettes for a limited time. These European-style baguettes come with delectable fillings such as 12-month Comte, Saucisson, and cornichons, or French butter with a generous portion of shaved Jamon Serrano. The reappearance of these iconic sandwiches is expected to draw food lovers from across the city.
Sam Glover has also curated a special “Top 10 Hamper,” featuring his favourite foodie essentials, available for customers to enjoy at home.
For hungry locals seeking a more immersive experience, the deli is offering a “Best 10 Cheeses Masterclass,” an exclusive event for eight guests. This intimate class will provide in-depth cheese knowledge, tastings, and complementary wine pairings, making it a must-attend for any cheese aficionado.
The celebrations will culminate in a grand Pork Ewe Deli Birthday Bash on 29 September at Ravella. You can find Pork Ewe Deli at 144 Maitland Road in Mayfield. For more information visit porkewe.com.au.
