To say the inaugural West Best Bloc Fest was a massive success is an understatement.
As soon as the last note was played, acts all around the Hunter wanted to know how to get on the bill for 2023.
Well, the good news is that Dylan Oakes, the man behind West Best Bloc Fest and Bandaid Bookings and Festivals, is now accepting applications for artists and bands who are keen on a slot at this year’s event.
Bands wanting to apply to play a set should email westbestblocfest@qmail.com.
Organisers are also keen to hear from people who are interested in working or volunteering at the event. If you’re keen email hello@bandaidbookings.com.au.
West Best Bloc Fest was one of 16 projects awarded a share of almost $800,000 through the City Centre and Darby Street Special Business Rate (SBR) funding program last year and will use the money to make the event better and also highlight other workers in the music industry.
“We’re not gonna go too much bigger, we’ll just go better and also highlight the people that make musicians amazing,” Dylan told Newcastle Live late last year.
“We’re just hoping there’s maybe two extra venues, but nothing’s locked in yet.”
There has been no date set for the 2023 event, but you can keep up to date with announcements by following Bandaid Bookings & Festivals on Instagram.
