RETAIL THERAPY: Olive Tree Market has got you covered this Mother’s Day!

Does the thought of your mum grinning through clenched teeth after receiving yet another lavender-scented soap pack, or fluffy slippers fill you with existential dread?

Well, worry no more because the next Olive Tree Market on Saturday 1 May, will ensure that your Mother’s Day 2021 gift-giving chops are on point.

The May 1 market will feature yet another beautifully curated lineup of debut artisans and designers alongside many Olive Tree faves.

One definite ‘must-see’ will be Nikita Rolleston of The Salty Crown, who will be showcasing an array of handcrafted hats.

Each hat is carefully hand crafted including the finer details. From the shaping of the hats, every detail of the sweatband, the trimmings, and everything else in between, creating unique characteristics within each design.

So if you’re looking for a quality chapeau, you know where to go!

Also, if you’re a lover of unique floral design, debut stallholder Sophie Kruik of the Floral Collective, will showcase stunning bouquets created from handpicked flowers, foliage, wildflowers and grasses in gorgeous wild textures and stunning palettes.

Much of Sophie’s inspiration is gathered from the cottage gardens of Europe, and wildflowers and grasses that she forages on the roadside- she loves that these flowers have a certain gentleness to their design, favouring a quiet romantic tone.

As an added bonus, Newcastle Libraries will be bringing Wayapa Storytime to the May 1 Market. Children and their families will be introduced to Wayapa Wuurrk – an Aboriginal-based earth and mindfulness story meditation that incorporates physical movements to promote sustainability, connection, and community.

The Olive Tree Market is on at Civic Park on Saturday 1 May from 9am to 2pm.
