OIKS: Jebediah lock in Newcastle date on new album tour

Perth’s rock veterans, Jebediah, are back with a brand new album. They’ve also locked in a date to play the King Street Band Room in Newcastle to celebrate its release.

OIKS is the first long player the band has released in 13 years. Sonically the release merges past and present. It sounds more mature than what’s come before it but doesn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

You can definitely hear the influence of Bob Evans in the lyrics and sensibility on tracks like the opener, Bad For You.

The album launch sets the stage for a remarkable year ahead, with Jebediah embarking on a 22-date national tour which includes a show in Newcastle in July.

The band will bring their mates Magic Dirt along for the ride around the country which is set to remind everyone that the ’90s was more than just great pills and underground raves.

“We are positively giddy to be heading out on the road to celebrate OIKS with our dear friends Magic Dirt, who we last toured the nation with 24 years ago,” the band said.

“Can you believe it? This will be one for the ages!”

Jebediah’s new album OIKS is out today. They’ll play King Street Bandroom on Saturday 20 July 2024. Tickets are available from oztix.com.au.
