A breath of fresh air is blowing through Mayfield’s bustling shopping precinct as a revitalizing pressure cleaning trial kicks off this week.
Collaborating closely with the Mayfield Business Improvement Association, City of Newcastle has heeded the voices of the community regarding the upkeep of the suburban shopping district’s footpaths.
By initiating this thorough cleaning and maintenance endeavour, the focus is on transforming these areas into inviting havens for visitors, thereby contributing to the success of local businesses.
“Mayfield is transforming before our eyes with young couples and families moving into the area, and new cafes and specialty shops popping up along Maitland Road with the changing demographic,” Mayfield BIA Chair, Tony Sansom said.
“It’s been close to 10 years since the footpaths along Maitland Road have been high-pressure cleaned, and we canโt wait to see our high street shopping strip sparkle once again.”
In recent years, the Mayfield BIA has been diligently working to elevate the precinct’s overall charm through a series of vibrant community events.
The Mayfield Arts Trail and Mayfield Day, now established as annual fixtures, have played a pivotal role in infusing a sense of vibrancy into the neighbourhood.
The pressure cleaning trial is scheduled to kick off today, 25 August, between 6 pm and 2 am, ensuring minimal disruption to the area’s daily activities.
