Multi-platinum UK singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner is returning to Australia in April 2026, bringing his new single Gravitational and a headline tour to Newcastle.

Gravitational is the latest taste of Faulkner’s eighth studio album, OCTOPUS, released on 6 March 2026 via Cooking Vinyl Records.

Co-written with INK, the track blends rhythmic drive, layered vocals, flashes of synth and vocoder, capturing the jolt of connection that pulls you toward someone before you even realise it.

The single signals a playful, experimental era for Faulkner, far from the purely acoustic sound that first made him famous.

Following earlier releases such as Hunting Season featuring Lissie and Los Bitchos, and the distorted, bass-driven Alright Alright Alright, Gravitational continues Faulkner’s exploration of collaboration and genre-blending.

The new work sees him swapping acoustic guitar for a distortion-charged Hofner violin bass, unlocking fresh sonic textures and rhythmic energy across the album.

Faulkner’s upcoming Australian tour marks his long-awaited return to a country he calls “a second home.” Audiences can expect a mix of his new material alongside fan favourites, delivered with the energetic connection and stagecraft that have made his live shows so compelling.

The tour demonstrates Faulkner’s renewed passion and artistic freedom after five years of crafting OCTOPUS. The album itself is a bold, adventurous statement, blending funk, R&B, soul and Latin grooves.

Newton Faulkner will perform in Newcastle on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 at the Hamilton Station Hotel. Tickets are on sale now with pre-order and exclusive tour packages available via newtonfaulkner.com.
