Newcastle’s alternative scene will take centre stage on Sunday, 12 April, when the Curiosities & Creators Expo transforms the Newcastle Entertainment Centre into a haven for the weird, the wonderful and the handmade.

The event promises a deep dive into a subculture that continues to carve out a strong and loyal following in the region.

Presented by Newcastle Alternative, the expo brings together a curated mix of local makers, artists and collectors, all united by a love of the unconventional.

Visitors can expect a sprawling marketplace of curiosities, from ethically sourced taxidermy and natural specimens to handmade jewellery, occult tools and witchy apothecary goods. Dark artwork, alternative fashion and one-off vintage finds will also feature, offering something distinctly different from the usual retail experience.

Beyond the stalls, organisers say the event is about creating a space for connection. With a focus on inclusivity and self-expression, the expo is designed as a welcoming environment where visitors can take their time, meet creators and engage with a community built around shared interests in the unusual and obscure.

The Curiosities & Creators Expo will take over the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Sunday, 12 April. Tickets are available now at eventbrite.com.
