Dashville‘s flagship annual celebration of music, The Gum Ball Festival, is turning 20 in style, with an electrifying second artist announcement led by The Herd, Liz Stringer and more, adding even more depth to an already stellar lineup.
Set to take place over the April long weekend at Dashville in the Hunter Valley on Wonnarua country, the festival is continuing its tradition of delivering a diverse and exciting array of performers, reinforcing its status as one of Australiaโs most beloved boutique music festivals.
Headlining the latest wave of acts is pioneering Australian hip-hop collective The Herd, whose socially conscious lyricism has long made them a defining voice in the genre. Joining them is acclaimed singer-songwriter Liz Stringer, known for her deeply moving storytelling and powerful performances.
Another major highlight is the return of Brisbane folk legends The Gin Club, reuniting for what promises to be a nostalgic and heartfelt set. Internationally, Vapors of Morphine will bring a taste of 90s alternative rock, offering fans of the iconic band Morphine a rare opportunity to experience their unique sound live.
The fresh additions also introduce a range of exciting newcomers and underground favourites, spanning multiple genres and regions. Victorian alt-rockers The Pretty Littles and Human Noise will bring their high-energy sound, while Ukulele Death Squad will deliver an infectious folk-fueled party atmosphere.
Hip-hop enthusiasts can look forward to Dem Mob, a powerful voice from the Northern Territory, and Tasmaniaโs Holiday Mystics will add an ethereal alt-pop touch to the mix. Dashville regulars will also be stoked to hear that Queenslandโs favourite childrenโs act, Junior Burger, has announced their return to the festival.
Representing the local music scene, Midway, Genie Loci, and Betty will showcase their homegrown talent. The celebrations kick off early on 24 April with a special Thursday night warm-up concert, headlined by Dashville favourites Skyscraper Stan & The Commission Flats.
The Gum Ball Festival 2025 will take place from the 25th to the 27th of April. With this latest announcement, The Gum Ballโs 20th-anniversary edition now boasts a lineup of 34 acts, blending legendary performers with emerging talent from across Australia and beyond.
