Newcastle and Hunter-based musicians with a knack for power pop and jangly indie rock are being invited to submit tracks for a brand-new compilation from long-running Aussie label Popboomerang Records.
Titled Shake Yer Popboomerang 4, the release is set to drop in early 2026 and will feature a fresh wave of melodic, hook-laden tunes from across the country.
Popboomerang has played a key role in launching and supporting some of Australia’s most beloved indie acts over the past two decades.
After a short hiatus, the label has returned to the scene with new energy, a series of upcoming album releases, and a clear mission to showcase emerging and established talent alike.
The fourth edition of Shake Yer Popboomerang continues the label’s tradition of championing infectious guitar pop and shimmering harmonies.
Now’s the time for local artists to get involved. The label is seeking previously unreleased tracks from solo artists and bands in the pop, rock, and jangle-pop space.
The compilation will be backed by a series of live shows around the country in 2026.
