Young Newcastle rockers, PIT have showcased a new side of their sound with the release of a brand new single Gone.
The track trades some of the trio’s usual sonic punch for a more reflective and emotionally charged approach. It feels like the band is leaning into some vulnerability while still holding onto the grit that has helped shape their reputation in the local scene.
Gone marks the second single to be lifted from PIT’s upcoming EP Repeat, which is set to arrive this April.
Behind the track’s shifting dynamics sits a deeply personal story about the emotional push and pull of holding onto love even as it begins to unravel.
“Gone is about loving someone deeply while knowing the relationship is slowly falling apart,” frontman Bailey Parker said.
“Written toward the end of a real relationship, it captures the quiet moment of denial, choosing to stay because the love is still there, even though the ending feels inevitable. Playing it now instantly pulls me back to that exact moment; I can remember exactly how I felt when I wrote it, even years later.”
It lands at a pivotal moment for the trio, who are preparing to support influential alternative metal band Helmet on upcoming national dates.
The new song is available to stream on all playfroms and you can catch the band live during a run of hometown headline shows across March as they celebrate the single’s release. Check out the band’s Instagram account for more info.
